AdvDCSM DCSS : T1
The INSTALLATION of T1 is an Installation process that requires the use of one (1) Installer. This Installer is found in one folder that is created from the one Downloaded Zip file. The DownLoad
Instructions can be found on the NSSyssoft website for obtaining this Zip file. The UnZipping processing of this file using the standard Zip Tool Procedure should produce
'AdvDCSMT1DCSS-InstallerTV.zip' file => 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS-InstallerTV' folder.
Note that this mapping reflects the Zip Tool Folder Naming choice and should not be changed.
Please be advised that this procedure's instructions must be followed to install successfully the AdvDCSMT1DCSS software.
INSTALLATION and Operation occurs for a User with Administrator Privileges on this PC with only ONE Administrator account.
The Microsoft .Net Framework Version 1.1 (& Service Pack 1) is required to be resident on this PC. The T1 installer will check for this program existence on this PC. An installer (dotnetfx.exe) for this program can be obtained from the Microsoft Download Center. Also, an update/Service Pack 1 (1.1.4322) (NDP1.1SP1-KB867460-X86.exe) can be obtained from the Microsoft Download Center.
SINGLE USER-SINGLE COMPUTER LICENSE is required for use of AdvDCSMT1DCSS on this PC.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE USER READ THE NOLTA SIMULATED SYSTEMS SOFTWARE (NSSyssoft) TRIAL LICENSE AGREEMENT AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THE LICENSE IF THE USER WANTS TO USE T1 LEGALLY AND CORRECTLY:
WARNING: AdvDCSMT1DCSS will not work properly on this PC if it is not licensed for this PC System!!!!!
NOTE: T1 is a Digital Communication SYSTEM SIMULATOR whose implementation is at the level of a PRODUCT PROTOTYPE. Its intended goal/ purpose/design is to simulate reliably a variety of Digital Communication systems of varying complexity as described in the README T1 Help Trial Version.txt file. Its Capability (Operational Performance) is dependent on many complex interacting factors that involve the User's PC/Computer System components itself. The User must be cognizant of the limits of the User's PC Computer System.INSTRUCTIONS1)
Verify that the AdvDCSMT1DCSS InstallerTV Zip file has been downloaded successfully and has been unzipped, i.e., you have extracted its contents.2)
Verify again that this PC satisfies all of the Computer System Requirements for successfully using T1 on this PC.3)
Confirm or Setup this Windows PC to operate for a User with Administrator Privileges.4)
Open the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS Installer' folder found in the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS-InstallerTV' folder.5)
Four files are found in the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS Installer' folder: 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS Installer.msi', 'InstMsiA.exe', 'InstMsiW.exe', 'Setup.exe', and 'Setup.ini'.
The 'Compatibility Mode' must be selected to "Run this program in compatibility mode for: 'User-Specified Selection'" for each file:

Note: To perform this operation, the Compatibility Mode for a file will be found by selecting the target file and then single clicking the 'Properties' option that is found under the 'File' Menu. The file's Properties Dialog box will then appear. Next select the 'Compatibility' tab and then the 'Compatibility Mode' option.6)
Initiate the Installation by Selecting the 'Setup.exe' Icon via the Mouse and double clicking it to Start 'Setup.exe'.
You may get a 'User Account Control' Dialog box asking "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?" that interrupts the Installation Initiation (File Publisher verification issue). Solution: Ignore the warning and select the "Yes" option.7)
Observe the appearance of the AdvDCSMT1DCSS Setup Wizard, Welcome.
Note: Delay of the Setup Wizard, Welcome may occur.8)
Read each Installation User Interface Dialog Box's Text and follows its Directions:
i) Note that the T1 'License Agreement' is the same one that you accepted on the NSSyssoft website prior to Download and
ii) Focus on the 'Read Me' Information and Comply with the 'Read Me' Instructions to eliminate a possible subsequent User Validation/Licensing problem.
iii) Note that the 'Select Installation Folder' Dialog box will inform you where you can find the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS.exe' file is located. For Windows 7 PC, this location is:
C:\ Program Files (x86)\ Nolta Simulated Systems Software\AdvDCSMT1DCSS\9)
Upon successful T1 installation, restart the PC.10)
Observe the 'Shortcut to AdvDCSMT1DCSS' icon on the Desktop and 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS' icon in the 'Start Menu'.11)
For the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS.exe' file, the 'Compatibility Mode' must selected to "Run this program in compatibility mode for: 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2)'"
Again, the 'Compatibility Mode' option for this file can be found via 'Properties' option of the 'File' Menu after the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS.exe' file has been selected.12)
Observe that the 'AdvDCSM: DCSS Help: Trial Version Guide' is presented to you in the foreground and the AdvDCSMT1DCSS Graphic User Interface (GUI) frame menu will appear in the background.
Upon clicking on the 'OK' or 'Cancel' button of this Guide, the 'AdvDCSM: DCSS Help: Key Capabilities and Features Guide' will be presented to you.
Upon clicking on the 'OK' or 'Cancel' button of this Guide, Observe that the AdvDCSMT1DCSS Graphic User Interface (GUI) frame menu will appear ready for FIRST USE.
This T1 GUI frame menu contains 'Help' Menu items (choices) that will provide access to information about T1 and instructions on how to use T1 if needed. These 'Help' choices are as follows:
i) 'Help: Trial Version Guide';
ii) 'Help: Key Capabilities and Features Guide';
iii) 'Help: Menu Use Guide'; and
iv) 'Help: Input Interface Use Guide.'
Observe that when AdvDCSMT1DCSS is used after the FIRST USE, an 'Announcement' Dialog will appear first and then T1's GUI with or without the above described first two Help Guides (User-dependent) will appear for Use.
Note that if the User turns off or turns on the display of the 'Help: Key Capabilities and Features Guide' at Startup, the 'Help: Trial Version Guide' will not or will be displayed, respectively.

Please be advised that this procedure's instructions must be followed to successfully uninstall the Trial Version AdvDCSMT1DCSS software.INSTRUCTIONS1)
Open the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS Installer' folder found in the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS-InstallerTV' folder.2)
Initiate the UnInstallation by Selecting the 'Setup.exe' Icon via the Mouse and double clicking it to Start 'Setup.exe'.
You may get a 'User Account Control' Dialog box asking "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?" that interrupts the Installation Initiation (File Publisher verification issue). Solution: Ignore the warning and select the "Yes" option.3)
Observe the appearance of the 'AdvDCSMT1DCSS Setup Wizard, Welcome'.4)
Select the 'Remove AdvDCSMT1DCSS' option and Initiate this process.5)
Observe the message "AdvDCSMT1DCSS has been successfully removed " in the 'Installation Complete' Dialog.
